Description

French toast bake is an easy, great-tasting go-to recipe to feed a crowd. Made with Maple Syrup, vanilla and egg, it is sure to be a hit.

Ingredients
  • 16-20 slices of day-old bread
  • 1 cup of maple syrup
  • 2 sticks of unsalted butter
  • 1 cup of brown sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon of vanilla extract
  • 2 cups of milk
  • 12 each of eggs, beaten
  • 1 Tablespoon of cinnamon
  • 1 Tablespoon of powdered sugar
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F, (175°C)🔥.

  2. In a medium saucepan, place butter, syrup, and brown sugar. Heat over med/low heat until melted, stirring constantly.

  3. Lightly grease a 9"x13" baking dish and pour the the melted buteer/syrup mixture into the bottom of the baking dish.

  4. Place the bread squares on top of the butter/syrup mixture, tightly against each other, covering the entire baking dish, and repeat in layers until you have 3 layers of bread.

  5. Mix the beaten eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and cinnamon in a large bowl and pour evenly over the top of the bread. If making ahead, cover tightly with plastic wrap and place in the fridge overnight.

  6. If making ahead, remove baking dish from the fridge 30 minutes before baking, and preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  7. Cover baking dish with aluminum foil and bake, covered, for 30 minutes. Uncover, and continue baking for an additional 25-30 minutes until center is firm and surface is lightly browned.

  8. Remove from oven and dust with powdered sugar and additional cinnamon if desired.

  9. Serve hot ♨ and enjoy!
