Bacon-wrapped asparagus bundles are a delicious appetizer or side dish that combines the smoky, savory flavor of bacon with the fresh, slightly earthy taste of asparagus. A few asparagus spears are bundled together and wrapped in a strip of bacon, then baked or grilled until the bacon is crispy and the asparagus is tender. The bundles are seasoned with salt, pepper, garlic, and a drizzle of maple syrup and soy sauce for added flavor. The contrast between the crispy bacon and tender asparagus makes this dish a crowd-pleaser at gatherings, barbecues, or holiday meals.

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F 🔥

  2. Trim the base of the asparagus stalks as needed, cutting off the dry ends, about a 1/2". Divide the asparagus into 12 bundles, 3-4 pieces each. Wrap 1 piece of bacon around each bundle, starting ½” below the base of the tips. Be sure to leave ½” of the base of the stalks exposed. Secure the bacon with toothpicks as needed.

  3. In a small saucepan, combine maple syrup, butter, soy sauce and garlic cloves. Heat until butter is melted, and all ingredients combine.

  4. Arrange asparagus bundles on a lightly greased baking sheet. Brush or drizzle the mixture over asparagus bundles. Season with salt and pepper.

  5. Bake 25 minutes or until spears are done and bacon is browned and crispy.
